Dv. Vavilov et al., COHERENT DIFFRACTIVE REACTIONS P-][SIGMA(1385)K-0(+)]+C AND P+C-][SIGMA-K-0(+)]+C - THE SEARCH FOR EXOTIC BARYONS(C), Physics of atomic nuclei, 58(8), 1995, pp. 1342-1350
The coherent diffractive reactions p + C --> [Sigma(1385)K-0(+)] + C a
nd p + C --> [Sigma(0)K(+)] + C are investigated in experiments with t
he SPHINX detector irradiated by 70-GeV protons. A structure X(2050) w
ith M = 2052 +/- 6 MeV and Gamma = 35 (+22)(-35) MeV in the Sigma(1385
)K-0(+) mass spectrum and a structure X(2000) with M = 1999 +/- 7 MeV
and Gamma = 91 +/- 17 MeV in the Sigma(0)K(+) mass spectrum are observ
ed in the former and latter processes, respectively. The small decay w
idths of these states and the anomalously large branching ratios of th
eir decays that involve the emission of strange particles make them se
rious candidates for cryptoexotic baryons with hidden strangeness.
