Abstract
This paper discusses questions of the theory of ring and linear laser cavities with field rotation. The results of theoretical and experimen tal studies of lasers with such cavities are presented. It is shown th at using cavities with field rotation in compact solid-state lasers po ssesses a number of substantial advantages by comparison with conventi onal cavities.
