Ya. Baloshin et al., USING A PULSED-PERIODIC TEA CO2-LASER TO PROCESS BRITTLE INSULATORS WITH LOW THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY, Journal of optical technology, 62(8), 1995, pp. 513-515
This paper presents results concerning the action of a pulsed-periodic
TEA CO2 laser with microsecond lasing pulses on various glasses and p
lates of industrial ceramic and gives a qualitative explanation of the
se results. It is shown that the action of such laser radiation signif
icantly (severalfold) decreases the width of the microcrack zone in th
e processing region of these brittle insulators, which possess low the
rmal conductivity.
