SOME IMPROVED FORMULAS FOR THE WESTMIJZE HEAD

New analytic formulas for the response of the Westmijze head are prese nted. 1) The first is calculated by a moment method based on entire do main expansion and test functions which incorporate the correct edge b ehavior of the field. It is shown that two such functions are enough f or getting an excellent convergence of the solution, and that the resu lt agrees with the Westmijze numerical results obtained through confor mal mapping approach. 2) The second formula is based on an interpolati on between Karlqvist and the thin head formulas, but in a different wa y from that which was previously done. This new formula agrees very we ll with the results obtained by Westmijze.
