A pre-column fluorescence derivatisation high-performance liquid chrom
atographic method for the analysis of a neuraminidase inhibitor, GG167
, in human serum is described. GG167 was extracted from serum samples
using Bond Elut SCX solid-phase extraction cartridges, followed by der
ivatisation with benzoin prior to reversed-phase chromatography with f
luorescence detection. This method has been automated using a Zymark r
obot and used in the analysis of human serum samples from clinical stu
dies. The method has been shown to be valid over a concentration range
of 10-800 ng/ml using a 1-ml sample volume.
