In this paper the possibility of performing a Bell-type test of quantu
m mechanics in the neutral kaon system at a phi-factory is discussed.
It is shown that a Bell inequality can be formulated for this system u
sing a formalism based on a kaon quasispin picture and taking into acc
ount CP violation. Tiny violations of this inequality by quantum mecha
nics could be experimentally tested at a high luminosity phi-factory,
by exploiting either coherent K-S-K-L regeneration in a thin regenerat
or, or single kaon quasispin oscillations in vacuum. The high precisio
n detector of an experiment at a phi-factory, addressing direct CP vio
lation in neutral kaon decays, could successfully perform such a test.
