Abstract
In this paper, we have used the fuzzy topologies tau(1) and tau(2) to generate a family tau(s), which is a supra fuzzy topology on X. Using the family tau s, we introduce and study the concepts of separation ax ioms, continuity (resp. openness, closedness) of a mapping and compact ness for a fuzzy bitopological space (X, tau(1), tau(2)). Our definiti ons preserve much of the correspondence between concepts of fuzzy bito pological spaces and the associated fuzzy topological spaces. We then investigate the relationship between these concepts and their correspo ndence with the fuzzy bitopological spaces (Kandil and El-Shafee, 1991 ).
