Abstract
A methodological critique was conducted of all full-length articles hi ghlighting American racial and ethnic minority groups or international populations appearing in the Journal of Employment Counseling, The Ca reer Development Quarterly, and the Journal of Vocational Behavior fro m 1985 through 1992. The 68 quantitative, empirically based studies id entified were examined for their theoretical bases, topical emphases, multicultural populations investigated, sample descriptions, sample si zes, geographic location of the samples, instrumentation, and statisti cal procedures used. The results are discussed in light of the critici sms of the general multicultural counseling research delineated in rec ent counseling literature.
