Abstract
After a one year phase of optimization, the new cokemaking system prov ed industrial maturity. The design throughput, based on 24 hrs coking time, could be achieved. The coke proved to be dense, fine porous, and resistant against mechanical, thermal and CO2-gasification stress. Th e heat balance, compared with modern multichamber coke plant, is impro ved, despite the increased surface of the JCR-single reactor system. T he reduction in emission potential is significant.
