Abstract
The aerial parts of Garberia heterophylla afforded the known guaianoli de-type sesquiterpene lactone eupahakonesin, 2,6-dimethoxybenoquinone and the triterpene epifriedelinol. In addition, a new and novel diterp ene, garberic acid, was isolated. Its structure and stereochemistry wa s established by spectral methods and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
