We present the preliminary results of a 7-week program to monitor the
levels and time integral exposure of carbon monoxide experienced by dr
ivers in Nottingham U.K. The results show that the levels are within t
he World Health Organisation's guidelines for 1 h exposure. The relati
onship between vehicle speed and carbon monoxide concentration is also
investigated and is found to be not significant. Copyright (C) 1997 E
