WHERE CULTURES COLLIDE - THE CHARACTERIZATION OF LAW AND LAWYERS IN FILM

An earlier version of this article was presented at the 1994 Law and S ociety annual meeting in Arizona and was accompanied by a compilation of film clips that formed part of the presentation of the paper. This article has two constituent pieces, firstly the substantive text, and secondly a filmography which gives a brief description of the films ut ilized. The filmography (Appendix I) replaces the clips that were used in the paper presentation; those readers unfamiliar with any of the f ilms discussed may benefit from turning firstly to the filmography.
