N. Kishi et al., MICROWAVE GENERATION USING LASER HETERODYNE TECHNIQUE WITH INDEPENDENT CONTROLLABILITY IN FREQUENCY AND PHASE, IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 43(9), 1995, pp. 2284-2287
This paper describes the theoretical and experimental Investigation of
a scheme for microwave generation using laser heterodyne. The frequen
cy of the generated microwave is controlled by changing the frequency
difference between two temperature-controlled semiconductor laser diod
es. The phase difference between the two microwaves is controlled by c
hanging the difference between the two states of polarization of two l
aser beams. An attractive feature of this scheme is its easy and indep
endent controllability in frequency and phase.
