ted, The results are consistent with intramolecular hydrogen bonding a
nd proton transfer as shown in the structure 3. Concentration dependen
ce of the NMR data for the perchloro compound shows an additional hydr
ogen bonding process attributed to the solute self-association. The H-
1, C-13 and and N-15 NMR data support the proposed proton transfer str
ucture,
