Abstract
Patient A 67-year-old man suffered from a tumor of the right upper eye lid. Initially a chalazion was suspected, but the lesion developed cen tral indentation and infiltrated the whole eyelid within three weeks. Methods A biopsy was taken in another clinic. A keratoacanthoma was di agnosed, however a squamous cell carcinoma could not be excluded defin itely. Because of enlargement of the tumor and ulceration of the lid m argin we removed the tumor completely with reconstruction of the eyeli d. After one year no recurrence was observed. Conclusion A lid lesion of this size has not been described in the literature.
