Leptospirosis is an uncommon zoonosis. As a systemic infectious diseas
e, leptospirosis usually is characterized by multisystem involvement.
Pulmonary involvement with leptospirosis often is manifested by respir
atory symptoms, but pneumonia commonly is not a prominent clinical man
ifestation of the illness. We report a case of fulminant leptospiral p
neumonia in which pulmonary manifestations were primary clinical featu
res of the illness.
