Abstract
The purpose of this research utilization project was to determine if a sufficient research base was present to support the use of gauze rath er than transparent dressings for peripheral intravenous catheter site s. The research articles reviewed in this article do not support a rel ationship between dressing type and complications of peripheral intrav enous catheters.
