Abstract
Complex spatio-temporal patterns, which were discovered experimentally in the Belousov-Zhabotinskii reaction in a chemical pinwheel have bee n previously reported. By applying a simple cellular automata model of a chemical system, we conclude that the observed behavior is the cons equence of the circular geometry and the known properties of excitable media.
