Infrared absorption bands in neon, argon, and krypton matrices at 4 K
were assigned to Si-3, Si-4, Si-6, and Si-7 from isotopic splittings a
nd from ab initio calculations of their vibrational frequencies and re
lative intensities. The agreement between experimental and calculated
frequencies is excellent. Si-5 is apparently in too low a concentratio
n to be observed.
