Abstract
Communication: The protection of metals against environmental attack c an be achieved by coating the metal with a protective organic film. Po or adhesion of the organic film to the metal surface has, however, lim ited the success of this approach. Here it is demonstrated that polyac rylonitrile can be electrografted onto a nickel surface producing a st rongly adherent film. The transformation of the organic film could als o open the way to new polymer-metal composites.
