Abstract
A method based on size fractionation plus reverse phototactic migratio n was used to collect large Dinophysis spp.-dominated populations. Cel ls were active and survived handling and transportation. Experiments i nvolving various treatments for establishing permanent cultures are de scribed; none have yet been successful.
