Abstract
In this paper new cubic v-splines monotonic one-dimensional profiles a re presented, for the finite volume solution of convection-diffusion p roblems. By studying the profile in normalized variables, some weight functions have been determined for the profile. Being free of the requ irement that the volumes be equal, the volume size can be reduced wher e needed. Numerical properties of the proposed method were formally an alysed and are confirmed by numerical examples included here.
