Abstract
In spite of their layered crystal structure, the new class of intermet allic borocarbide superconductors (typified by LuNi2B2C) have three-di mensional conduction with anisotropy being a minor factor. The calcula ted electron-phonon coupling constants are consistent with a picture o f moderate- to strong-coupling conventional superconductivity, with la rge contributions from boron vibrations. We report several calculated material parameters for members of this class of compounds, and compar e with some of the experimental data.
