Abstract
A comparative study of the action of low-frequency glow-discharge plas ma on the properties and structure of PM, Upilex S, and Upilex R polyi mide films was carried out. The most profound changes in contact angle , surface potential, and water adsorption by a film were observed for Upilex S. By multiple internal reflection IR spectroscopy, it was foun d that the process of plasma-chemical modification of any of these pol yimide films opens the imide unit and forms polar NH and OH (in unboun d carboxyls) groups.
