Abstract
Infrared multiphoton (MPD) dissociation of hexafluoropropylene oxide i n the presence of HCl with different modes of laser irradiation was st udied. The mechanism of decomposition of hexafluoropropylene oxide was confirmed: at a high energy fluence, the degradation of C3F6O can pro ceed via a high-energy pathway yielding the carbene CFCF3 in the first stage. Based on the analysis of distribution of the C3F6O MPD product s, the mechanism of transformations of CFCF3 is proposed. A rate const ant for the secondary IR photolysis of this species and the ratio of t he rate constant of the CFCF3 addition to HCl to that of its isomeriza tion were evaluated.
