Abstract
The parallel electron viscosity is shown to play an important role in sawtooth collapse. A new sawtooth collapse model is established with a Sweet-Parker type analysis. The reconnection time based on this paral lel electron viscosity model is less than that of the electron inertia model for a high temperature tokamak plasma.
