Abstract
Reduction of aldehydes and ketones with PMHS [Me(3)SiO-(SiMe(H)O)(n)-S iMe(3)] proceeded smoothly in the presence of Bu(4)NF at similar to 70 degrees C or 0 degrees C within 60 min in THF. High stereo- and chemo selectivities as well as functional group tolerance of this system are also presented. (C) 1997, Elsevier Science Ltd.
