Abstract
We describe the calibration of fibre optic probes used to perform in v ivo light dosimetry studies during the treatment of skin lesions by ph otodynamic therapy. Results from six individual detectors show that th e linearity of the calibration and the calculated radiant energy fluen ce rate within a liquid phantom are independent of the type and sensit ivity of the probe. The method of calibration is also shown to yield t he optical interaction coefficients of the phantom.
