Pd. Willson et al., ELECTROSURGICAL COUPLING TO A METAL CANNULA CAUSING SKIN BURNS DURINGLAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY, Minimally invasive therapy, 4(3), 1995, pp. 163-164
An unexpected skin burn adjacent to a cannula used for electrosurgery
was detected after routine surgical laparoscopy. This case report high
lights how monopolar electrosurgical current can take abnormal return
paths to the patient plate giving rise to patient injury.
