Abstract
The problem of the impression of two symmetrical rectangular stamps wi th narrow rectangular bases into an elastic isotropic half-space under the effect of vertical forces is considered. An integral transform so lution is developed to reduce the solution of the problem into a Fredh olm integral equation of second kind. An expression for the pressure o n the contact areas is derived. Finally, numerical results are obtaine d and displayed graphically.
