Abstract
Oxidation of the enol diphenylphosphate ester derived from a 3-substit uted 2,4,4-trimethyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one by the CrO3-DMP reagent affor ds in high yield the cross-conjugated dienone 8. The same dienone can be obtained from safranal derivative 10 by reaction with the same reag ent. (C) 1997, Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
