Abstract
This study comprises 91876 Salmonella strains from human and animal or igin isolated in Belgium between 1986 and 1994, and aimed at determini ng the percentage of serovar Salmonella Hadar amongst these strains. F rom 1993 on we observe an increase of the percentage of Salmonella Had ar isolates from poultry, and from 1994 this serovar was significantly more identified amongst strains isolated from man and other mamalians . This increase should be seen in relation to the onset of resistance of the Salmonella Hadar serovar against nalidixic acid.
