We counted common ravens (Corvus corax) during 1990 and 1991 in the Mo
jave Desert, California, to examine hypotheses relating to number and
type of linear rights-of-way. First, we hypothesized that raven number
s would increase with ina easing road traffic volume and traffic speed
Second we hypothesized that raven numbers would show a positive relat
ionship with increasing number of linear rights-of-way which I an in p
arallel. Our data did not support the first hypothesis but did support
the second.
