Spatial correlation functions in Lorentz gases maintained in nonequili
brium steady states are studied. The correlation function of microscop
ic number densities of the moving particle and scatterer is found to h
ave long range spatial correlations that decay as 1/r(2) in three dime
nsions in the presence of either a concentration gradient, a temperatu
re gradient, or an electric held. Stronger correlations are found at h
igher order in the electric held. Our analysis is based on a derived k
inetic equation for the two-particle correlation function. Possible ex
tensions of our work are discussed.
