Hf. Smirnov et al., THERMOACOUSTIC PHENOMENA AT BOILING SUBCOOLED LIQUID IN CHANNELS, International journal of heat and mass transfer, 40(8), 1997, pp. 1977-1983
The problem of thermoacoustic phenomenon (ThAPh) of subcooled liquids
boiling in channels is studied. The importance of the problem is well-
known as high frequency pressure oscillations are responsible for dest
roying and ruining not only tube sections, but apparatus and equipment
units as a whole. The problem has not been explored well enough up un
til now. The authors thoroughly explored previous investigations and c
ontinued with detailed studying of the problem theoretically and exper
imentally. As a result, they proposed an original theoretical model of
the phenomenon which has been completely confirmed by the experiments
. The results obtained by the authors can have very important practica
l applications. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
