Abstract
Options for the treatment or disposal of the two-phase discharge from a runaway reactor following emergency venting are discussed. Methods a re given for the design of separation vessels and quench tanks. Differ ent types of separation vessel and various design methods are compared . Examples are given for the different methods and systems.
