Seed glutenins of 36 cereal species from different subfamilies were st
udied by SDS-electrophoresis. Glutenins proved to be very diverse acco
rding to their composition:In most species components are located in t
he region 14-66 kDa. A group of minor 55-65 kDa components was also ob
served. No distinct relationships between the electrophoretic spectrum
and systematic status of taxa were found.
