Abstract
K alpha and K beta x-ray fluorescence spectra of various V, Cr and Mn compounds were measured with a Bragg spectrometer. The relative intens ities of the K beta(1,3), K beta(2), K beta' and K beta '' lines with respect to the K alpha line were determined to confirm the chemical ef fect on the K beta/K alpha intensity ratio obtained using a Si(Li) det ector, Chemical effects on each component line are discussed with resp ect to the oxidation state of the metal ions. The relative importance of an increase in transition probabilities of the K beta(2) group (K b eta(2) and K beta '') was evaluated in the determination of the overal l K beta/K alpha ratio.
