XANES STUDIES OF SOME COPPER(II) MIXED-LIGAND COMPLEXES IN SOLID FORMAND IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTION

X-ray K-absorption spectra of seven structurally important copper(II) mixed-ligand complexes were recorded using a 0.4 m radius Cauchois-typ e bent crystal x-ray spectrograph, The spectra of the complexes were r ecorded in both the solid and in aqueous solution, The observed x-ray parameters, e,g, chemical shifts, edge widths, shift of the principal absorption maximum and structure of the K-edge, were used to interpret the proposed structure of the complexes.
