7 latency-age children received brief behavioral therapy for Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The intervention included reinforcing
appropriate behaviors and punishing negative behaviors, skills traini
ng, and parental education. There were significant decreases in impuls
ivity at home and school after intervention. These results suggest tha
r brief behavioral interventions might decrease impulsivity in ADHD ch
ildren over the short term, bur the sample was small and heterogeneous
, so replication on a larger sample is required.
