Abstract
An empirical relation between superconducting transition temperature a nd the decomposition temperature has been established in cuprate compo unds. The Neel temperature of some parent compounds of cuprate superco nductors also shows a relation to the decomposition temperature. The e mpirical rule indicates that the lower the decomposition temperature, the higher the superconducting transition temperature in cuprate super conductors with optimum doping, and also the higher the Neel temperatu re for the corresponding parent compounds.
