Abstract
The paper deals with the design and operation of an experimental hybri d cannon consisting of a 60 mm bore gas cannon using standard propella nt and a traveling-wave induction accelerator. The projectile, consist ing of an aluminum cylinder weighing 120 grams, is initially brought u p to a speed of 600 m/s in the gas cannon. The pulsed-power stage is d esigned to accelerate the projectile further to a velocity of 700m/s.
