The paper is devoted to the development of the method to increase the
stability of the macroparticle launch velocity in the electromagnetic-
rail accelerators for the simulation of space debris. The method is ba
sed on the acceleration process control in the real time. The principl
e of the accelerator control is in varying the armature current and ma
croparticle acceleration with a circuit by-passing. The control algori
thm with memory has been investigated. The acceleration process contro
l reduces the effect of disturbances in accelerator parameters and ini
tial conditions, as well as the effect of measurement errors upon the
spread in launch velocities. The control algorithm efficiency is check
ed by numerical modeling of operation of the laboratory rail accelerat
or with plasma armature.
