Abstract
The method of indirect colloidal gold labeling (employing protein A) w as used to localize lectins and agglutinins in nitrogen-fixing soil ba cteria of the genera Azospirillum, Bacillus, and Rhizobium. Lectins an d agglutinins were found on the cell surface and were not associated w ith any filaments.
