Nn. Voroshilova et al., REGULARITIES OF INTERACTION OF THE BACTERIAL AND PHAGE POPULATIONS INA BIOREACTOR BY THE EXAMPLE OF ENTEROBACTER AND HAFNIA, Microbiology, 64(4), 1995, pp. 404-409
Regularities of interaction of bacterial and phage populations in the
process of joint cultivation of bacteriophages and producer bacteria E
nterobacter and Hafnia were established. To obtain the bacteriophage m
ass, it was preferable to use the mode of batch dynamic homogeneous su
bmerged cultivation and employ the media based on enzymatic hydrolysat
e. The optimal cell density for the moment of phage infection and the
optimal concentration of dissolved oxygen, providing for the highest p
hage biomass accumulation, were found. Optimized regimes for the proce
sses of bacteriophage cultivation controlled by biological and physico
chemical parameters were developed.
