Abstract
Chemisorption of CO on Pt/H-ZSM-5 and Pt/H-Erionite was studied by com bined gravimetric and FTIR spectroscopic measurements. This arrangemen t allowed the quantitative interpretation of the infrared spectra of c hemisorbed CO. The absorption band of linear bonded CO was observed at 2078 cm(-1). The determined integral absorption intensity (30 +/- 5 c m . mu mol(-1)) of the C-O stretching vibration (O=C...Pt) was found t o be identical for all zeolitic systems under study. The very small am ount of CO adsorbed in the bridged state was explained by the possibly high indices occurring on the surfaces of small platinum crystallites .
