The low temperature NMR investigation of Mn(hfac)(2)NITiPr, a one-dime
nsional ferrimagnet formed by manganese(II), spin S = 5/2, and nitrony
l nitroxide NITiPr, spin S = 1/2, is reported. The main feature observ
ed is a field dependent maximum in the H-1 longitudinal relaxation rat
e. These data are explained assuming nonlinear excitations, like 2 pi
sine-Gordon solitons. The theoretical modelling for solitons in 1D fer
rimagnets is outlined. This is the first report of soliton spin dynami
cs in one-dimensional ferrimagnets.
