Abstract
We study a model which presents surface enhanced magnetic order and ma gnetic reconstruction using a nonlinear map with boundary conditions. Different temperature dependences are found for the parallel and perpe ndicular components of the magnetization. The relevance to recent expe riments on Gd/W films is discussed.
