Abstract
The theoretical feasibility of the formation of smooth output radiatio n pulses in an electron-beam-controlled CO2 laser operating at atmosph eric pressure was confirmed experimentally by profiling pump pulses. S mooth output pulses were also generated by rapid pumping when the pres sure in the mixture was reduced to 0.5 bar.
