Abstract
Bistable luminescence was observed experimentally when a quantum-well gallium arsenide layer was excited with laser radiation. The bistabili ty appeared at a specific concentration of titanium atoms, which were used to dope the quantum-well layer and the substrate. The luminescenc e bistability was not observed when the investigated samples were dope d with chromium or vanadium.
